Lucky Charms Cinnamon Vanilla Cereal Review

Another Limited edition cereal by General Mills has a mix of cinnamon with Lucky Charms in Cinnamon Vanilla Lucky Charms:

Originality – Cinnamon and Vanilla give you the warm winter feeling so it makes sense to try and capture that taste.

Aftertaste – Cinnamon

Mouth Feel – Nothing different than what you would expect with a Lucky Charms cereal.

Sweetness – It tasted to be the same level of sweetness as regular Lucky Charms.

Flavor – We think it had the perfect amount of cinnamon to compliment the marshmallows and oat cereal. The vanilla flavor though seemed to be more of a marshmallow flavor than a vanilla flavor. This is exactly what you think it is, a cinnamon flavor of Lucky Charms.

Look – It looks like Lucky Charms with a new snowman marshmallow.

Packaging – We are glad that we got a snowman on the package otherwise we might not have known what that marshmallow was. You definitely get the winter feel with this package and Lucky in the snow.

Around the Table – It was interesting because nothing really stood out that much to mention here. Everyone gave it the it’s decent vibe.

Overall – The following scores (out of 5) were recorded during our cereal taste testing of Lucky Charms Cinnamon Vanilla Cereal:
Damon Cap – 2.5
Kid L – 3

Honey Maid S’mores Cereal Review

Honey Maid S’mores Cereal showed up in the store and we threw it directly in our cart. This is a flavor that is top of our list and allowing us to have it for breakfast seems like a major win.

Originality – S’mores are a classic taste that hasn’t seen a lot of love in the breakfast world lately, so it makes sense to try and see if it would stick this time

Aftertaste – No bad aftertaste

Mouth Feel – A good mix of textures

Sweetness – It is a sweet cereal

Flavor – The texture and taste of the graham part of the cereal is the same as Golden Grahams and there are a lot of marshmallows. The marshmallows number add a little too much sweetness but they were trying to shoot for some balance with the graham portion which overpowers a bit. For me the chocolate pieces were not chocolate tasting enough and even if I put just those pieces on my spoon they were still not chocolately enough.

Look – Gives you the three different pieces for each of the s’mores flavors.

Packaging – The packaging is pretty standard with no cartoon figures or anything special. The box gives the cereal the highlight.

Around the Table – While I felt there was not enough chocolate, Kid L seemed to enjoy it well enough. It did not become an instant favorite for her, but she seems fine eating bowl after bowl each morning.

Overall – Tone down the graham flavor, up the chocolate flavor and number of pieces and then take out some marshmallows and I think it would be much better.

The following scores (out of 5) were recorded during our cereal taste testing of Honey Maid S’mores Cereal:
Damon Cap – 3
Kid L – 4

Jackson Guthy Talks Cereal

Jackson Guthy

Cinnamon toast crunch!

At only 16-years-old, Jackson Guthy has already captivated America on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, toured with Big Time Rush and One Direction, and joined forces with major label, Universal Republic Records. However, as far as the singer / songwriter is concerned, there’s still a lot more to accomplish.

“I want the whole world to hear my songs,” he enthuses. “Music is so powerful, and it’s inspired me for as long as I can remember. I want to share that feeling with everyone, worldwide.”

It’s an ambitious goal, but Jackson has been working toward achieving it since the age of four when his older sister lost interest in her piano lessons and he picked them up. At the encouragement of his parents, the Southern California native immersed himself in various instruments. Within a few years, he was already writing his own songs at an impressive and prolific rate. Soon, he began performing live locally and turning heads within the music industry. Shortly after his fifteenth birthday, his music landed on Ellen DeGeneres’ desk, and she dropped him a call—literally.

“She personally called me and invited me to perform onher show,” he smiles. “I was so excited. I didn’t even know what to think. It was my very first television performance, and it opened up so many doors for me. I’m beyond thankful for the opportunity Ellen gave me.”

His live rendition of original track “LOVING” enchanted audiences, and press and fans alike became enamored with the young performer. Opening the Big Time Rush “Better With U” tour alongside One Direction solidified him as a live performer. After returning from thistour in 2012 and delivering a jaw dropping performance at the legendary Radio City Music Hall, Universal Republic signed Guthy.

His debut single on Universal Republic, “One of These Days” fuses upbeat pop with a fresh swagger, and it’s the perfect introduction to his style. Guthy co-wrote the tune with Hot Chelle Rae’s Nash Overstreet and Brian Kennedy [Chris Brown, Rihanna] while Dewain Whitmore [Kelly Clarkson] produced it. Sailing from energetic handclaps into sun-soaked guitar, “One of These Days” makes for an invigorating and infectious anthem.

However, there isn’t simply one side to Jackson. His voice echoes with palpable soul on the piano-driven “Stop My World,” which is about “a girl freezing time for you,” and he channels a Motown falsetto for “I Got You.” “The music is really diverse,” he goes on. “It can be pop, alternative or even old school soul. The range is big and I never want to just do one thing.”

In addition, Jackson’s stamp is on every one of these songs as he always serves as writer or cowriter. “As a writer, you know if your voice will fit a song or not,” he explains. “I play instruments and I focus on writing. I’m not worried about dancing and choreography. If you’re a dude, you can listen to my music without being embarrassed. There’s something old school about it.”

Make no mistake about it, Jackson Guthy is the future, and he’s only begun accomplishing his goals.

“It’s about having a dream and thinking it can come true one day. No matter how unreachable your dreams seem, there’s a possibility they can happen. I feel like I’m proof of that.” – Jackson

Addison Ricke Talks Cereal

AR 0435F

My 2 favorite cereals are Cheerios and Cocoa Puffs.  Those have always been my favorite breakfast, or any time of the day, cereals.

Addison Riecke, one of Nickelodeon’s newest stars, began her career when she discovered her love for acting, singing and musical instruments at age four.  Gaining experience through a variety of camps and workshops, such as the Kehoe-France Drama Camp, Addison was able to begin her career on stage both in theatre and musical theatre. In January 2012, Addison won a number of awards through IPOP’s convention, including awards for Child Actor of the Year, Winner of Child Monologue and Winner of Child TV Beauty Commercial.  Shortly after, Addison was offered representation and is now advancing her career in the LA market. Her latest project, a super-hero themed comedy “The Thundermans,” will be one of Nickelodeon’s newest television series for 2013. Addison has also appeared on the new ABC series “How to Live with Your Parents (for the Rest of Your Life),” on stage in “101 Dalmatian Kids,” and in national commercials for Lunchables and PlayStation. In addition to her acting and singing talents, Addison also enjoys playing both the piano and guitar.

Disney Pixar Monsters University Cereal

Disney Pixar Monsters University Cereal

Just in time for the movie we get Disney Pixar Monsters University Cereal which is a vanilla multigrain cereal that has marshmallows shaped like Sulley and Mike from the movie. This will be a limited edition cereal but it looked pretty neat.

I think they did a good job with both monsters in marshmallow form, with Sulley’s head being the better of the two. They also did not do anything crazy with the cereal just sticking to the “we know this works, just throw marshmallows in it” type of cereal. While we are all looking forward to the Monsters University movie, I am sure our kids will be happy to see the Disney Pixar Monsters University Cereal in their bowls as well.

Aedin Mincks Talks Cereal

Favorite Cereal: I am supposed to stay away from any wheat or gluten products so cereal is a tough one. I occasionally will eat it though and my favorite would have to be LOVE CRUNCH  Dark Chocolate Strawberry Granola.

Dylan Riley Snyder Talks Cereal

Favorite Cereal: At home it’s a no brainer, Cheerios! At work I dip into oatmeal with fresh fruit.

Dylan Riley Snyder has been involved in acting from the beginning. Four days after his birth, he began attending rehearsals with his mother and sister in a children’s production of “Winnie the Pooh”. With acting in the family, it wasn’t a surprise that he began his acting roles at 18 months. The family soon found out that he enjoyed being on the stage and began letting him audition at the tender age of 5, where he won his first speaking role as Tiny Tim, in “A Christmas Carol”. After performing in several community theatre shows, Dylan wanted to take a chance on New York. On Dylan’s 9th birthday he and his mother settled into a Manhattan apartment. Within no time Dylan was thrilled to call home and let them know of his first Broadway show booking in Disney’s musical, “Tarzan”, as Young Tarzan. Currently he plays ’Milton,’ the geeky, book-loving kid that turns into a Karate expert thanks to the Bobby Wasabi karate studio and the support of his friends in the Disney XD series, “Kickin’ It.” He also partnered with the American Cancer Society to become the Youth Ambassador for the LOLLIPOP Theater Network.

Chocolatey Crunch – Cap’n Crunch

Chocolatey Crunch - Capn Crunch

My kids have turned into huge Cap’n Crunch fans this year and we tend to have a box of one of the different types of the Cap’n at all times. Well the newest flavor is the Chocolatey Crunch version of the cereal which will be a huge hit for all of those chocolate fans. It looks to be the same consistency and shape of regular Cap’n Crunch just with the added benefit of chocolate, which for the fans of the original is a good thing. I have just found that the Cap’n takes a huge toll on the inside of my mouth with what I would call the “sharpest” cereal known to man.

I did end up buying a box of the cereal at the store, so you can hopefully expect a report on Cap’n Crunch Chocolately Crunch sometime soon. Just don’t expect anything special from me, as I am not a huge fan of the texture of the cereal that the kids seem to like. I am also going to assume that it will create some delicious tasting milk in your cereal bowl after sitting around like good chocolate cereals do.
